Rangpur Riders registered their 3rd win in the contest beat Khulna Royal Bengals by 33 runs in a low scoring match. The target was a small 123 runs, but by the 15th over, Rangpur Riders' bowlers had twisted the match into theie side before Fidel Edwards finished the victory.
Chasing a low score, it was Fiedel Edwards who gave Riders the ideal start with the wicket of Lou Vincent in the opening over. The wickets of Mizanur Rahman and Riki Wessels falls soon after. skipper Shahriar Nafees made a 22 ball 14 before getting caught cutting Nasir Hossain. Daniel Harris and Asif Ahmed battled for a even as before both dismissed within 10 deliveries of each other to end the Royal Bengals fight as they shrunken to the lowest total in Bangladesh Premiere League.
Fidel Edwards finished up with four wickets as he removed the tail while skipper Abdur Razzak take three wickets.
Riders were not always on peak in the match though. Harris, Royal Bengals' part time medium pacer, claimed three wickets, a catch and hit the stumps direct to pin them down. Harris removed Danza Hyatt, Cameron Borgas and Niall O'Brien in his four overs spell that dictated the pace of the game. Kevin O'Brien was top scorer with an unbeaten 24 from 30 deliveries with just a Boundary. Fidel Edwards named for the Man of the Match award for his brilliant spell.
