Chittagong Kings gave their energetic home followers some joy with an eight wicket won against Khulna Royal Bengals. It was their 1st win at the MA Aziz Stadium, and only their second in the contest.
The Chittagong Kings overcame from poor start to reach their target of 137 runs. The pitch gave low bounce as the game progressed, and Brendan Taylor worked the ball around the uneven outfield when it became hard to loft it. Taylor, who steered the Kings' chase with a half century.
Brendon Taylor smashed seven fours and a six in his knock of 69 runs from 49 balls. Ryan ten Doeschate gave Taylor precious support with a 34 off 41, and put 93 runs for the 3rd wicket. Legspinner Samuel Badree and left-arm spinner Sanjamul Islam had taken a wicket each by the seventh over, before the huge partnership ended the match .
The Royal Bengals suffered their fifth defeat in seven matches. Their openers Lou Vincent and Shahriar Nafees dismissed for 9 each, and they struggled to 47 for 3 in the 10th over. Travis Birt and Riki Wessels added 41 runs for the fourth wicket before Wessels, who top scored 35 from 32 deliveries, added one more 33 runs with Daniel Harris.
The Royal Bengals' batsmen managed only nine boundaries in 20 overs, as the Kings bowled well than they had in their last two games. Enamul Haque jnr claimed three wickets after Rubel Hossain and Shaun Tait had given the side a solid base with reasonable spells.
