Rangpur Riders moved to 5th place with a final ball win over Chittagong Kings, They lost their 1st match after four successive wins. Kevin O'Brien and Danza Hyatt smashed the 16 required off the last over bowled by Rubel Hossain.
After Naeem Islam's misfield off the first ball agreed a boundary, O'Brien hit one more four, to point, played out a dot ball before taking a single to midwicket. Hyatt hitted a straight six before scampering a leg bye off the last ball to seal the win. The pair put on an unbeaten 33 runs for the 6th wicket off just 14 deliveries as Rangpur stayed in contention of a winning chase throughout their innings. Imrul Kayes and Cameron Borgas scored 48 runs each and put on 96 runs for the third wicket in fast time. Kayes strike three fours and three sixes in his 40 ball knock while Borgas made his runs in 41 balls with three fours and two sixes.
Shaun Tait and Kevon Cooper claimed two wickets each, but Rubel's poor last over cost them the match. His lack of control at the final overs has been a recurring theme in his career.
Earlier, Chittagong scored 160 for 6 credit to Ryan ten Doeschate's good form, the Netherlands batsman this time made 50 from 32 deliveries included with a two sixes and fours. Ariful Haque hammered an unbeaten 33 off 20 with four fours and a six to positive the total.
