With five runs wanted off the final delivery, Elton Chigumbura swung Mashrafe Mortaza to deep midwicket, where Darren Stevens seized the catch to seal Gladiators' place  in the final of the BPL.

The result validate Gladiators' last minute buy  Chris Gayle. He was smashed 114 runs from just  51 deliveries, striking 12 huge  sixes. His ninth six was the longest in the season  at 103 metres and it nearly reached the second layer of the stands behind long on. This  was the third century  of the tournament.
